Junior Courses 2020
7/7/2020 Update
Mayo sailing club are now open for bookings for all sailing levels for weeks 3 to 6 (13th July to 7th August). We ask parents to book your child in to a particular level, following the level they completed last year, so that we can place them in similar skills groups and at a suitable instructor/student ratio.
Following the guidelines from Irish Sailing we are using the pod system for our sailing camps, for example 6 students and an instructor as a pod may not be able to social distance while sailing, but should be able to while on shore. The members of the pod remain in that pod for the week while at the camp. By booking your child into a sailing camp you are accepting and agreeing to the risk.
As mentioned in an earlier post, the certificates will not be a priority this year and the safe and enjoyable return to the sport of sailing is to be this year’s focus. However, sailors can log their new skills in their Irish Sailing passport.
We endeavour to keep everyone safe so we will not be using the clubhouse and to this end the camps will run from 10am – 2pm, €80 for the week. Therefore, there will be no lunch break but children can bring a snack to have when they return to shore.
Finally, a word of welcome to those booking for the first-time the Taste of Sailing camp. We ask that you have a good level of swimming and you wear a Personal Flotation Device suitable for your height and weight.
Before you book please read the policies and protocols click here and if you have any further questions please contact me. For booking information click here.
Happy sailing,
