Booking is now open for our Junior Sailing Courses. These are for children aged 9 – 17 years. The courses are week long, Monday to Friday from 10am-4pm, from 5th July until 13th August. See more information and dates in our booking application.
We ask parents to book your child in to a particular level so that we can place them in similar skills groups and at a suitable instructor/student ratio. They may need to be booked into the level they were in last year, especially if they haven’t done much sailing since. The instructor will be able to gauge if they can be moved up a level if they display competency at that level.
Following the guidelines from Irish Sailing we are using the pod system for our sailing camps, for example 6 students and an instructor as a pod may not be able to social distance while sailing, but should be able to while on shore. The members of the pod remain in that pod for the week while at the camp. By booking your child into a sailing camp you are accepting and agreeing to the risk.
We hope to be able to issue certificates this year. Like last year sailors can continue to log their new skills in their Irish Sailing passport, whether or not they receive a certificate.
We endeavor to keep everyone safe so we will not be using the clubhouse. The lunch break will be short as there will be no access to the clubhouse.
Finally, a word of welcome to those booking for the first-time the Taste of Sailing camp. We ask that you have a good level of swimming and you wear a Personal Flotation Device suitable for your height and weight.
Please be aware that our course structure can change depending on government guidelines.
