Mayo SC recently took delivery of 2 new rescue boats from McHale Marine Of Belcarra Castlebar.
They are both Whaly Boat brand and constructed of robust double walled polythylene similar to our exiting boats. One is a standard boat with a new 9HP engine for routine use as a rescue boat. The other is equipped with a larger 25HP engine (also new) and a center console. This is for use as a fast response rescue boat. It is a requirement of the Mayo SC Irish Sailing Center approval that we have a “fast response boat” on hand at all times. They will be used for our Junior and adult sailing courses during the summer. They are a great assets to both club and local community.
These boats and engines were partly funded by FLAG for Local Coastal community development. And we are delighted to have received this funding.
